SWMMN to assist with review of maternal deaths within the region

A standardised pathway is being developed  for trusts completing a review of  a maternal death to obtain external clinical specialist opinion, to be provided by the SWMMN. The SWMMN will provide an impartial, external view on the case and any aspects of the clinical care provided, as well as their personalisation and equity needs, that may have impacted on the outcome for the woman and their family, as well as any learning for sharing across the region.
